Watching Soccer

some people were envy when i told them that i now live in germany. mostly because 'i can watch every bundesliga matches'. right, as if i'm a big fan of soccer. @_@
i usually limit myself to world and european cups. =D

and then, since a few months ago my dave has been bugging me to come with him watch his favorite club playing. hmm... four hours in the tribune, in which two we'd stand and do what fans normally do. erm, nope!
i've been able to resist...

until last sunday. ^^;;

went to kaiserslautern for their match against fc erzgebirge aue, which i've never heard about before.
on the way there i saw people wearing a cap, a scarf, a tricot, a jacket or any other fan-articles available. and he was wearing a tricot _plus_ two scarves. hmm. a die-hard fan?

but as i got there, i realized that he's not that bad compared to the others. ^^
this guy had his face painted in red and white, wore a jeans jacket full with emblems plus soooo many scarves on his belt. he also had a huge banner with him, it's probably even wider than my height. @_@ pity that i didn't get a decent photo of it.

may be because it's that huge, he swung the banner only after the team got a goal in, and also during the anthem before the start of the game. erm, the anthem!?

You'll never walk alone
When you walk through a storm,
hold your head up high,
and don't be afraid of the dark.

At the end of a storm,
there's a golden sky,
and the sweet silver song of a lark.

Walk on through the wind,
walk on through the rain,
though your dreams be tossed and blown.

Walk on, walk on,
with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone,
you'll never walk alone! (2x)

they have many songs and hand clappings. each song has its own movement to accompany, be it jumping up and down, or swirling a scarf on the air,
or to offer a tissue because we don't want to see any tears. *g* that was bloody funny!

i was quite distracted at the beginning of the game; torn between watching the match and listening to these crazies who called themselves loyal fans. since i sat on the west tribune, which is _their_ tribune, it was really loud. but later on i quite managed to know what's going on on the field and enjoy the game.

i had so much fun, but i guess i have to learn some of the songs before my next game. ^_^
